Brian S. McCarthy Memorial Foundation – Updated March 21,2020

After some very successful fund raising efforts, which still continue, the McCarthy Memorial Foundation has started funding STEM efforts in the Nashua school system.  Two donations were given to two elementary schools to fund their STEM projects we are in the process of selecting two high school students for STEM scholarships this Spring.  Plans are in progress for additional fund raising and awards but things have been slowed down by the current COVID19 virus.

HISTORY:

Brian’s family and a group of his closest friends have started the Brian S. McCarthy Memorial Foundation to raise money and award STEM scholarships to deserving graduating students at both Nashua High South and Nashua High North who want to pursue careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Electronics and Math) fields of study.  A website has been established and I encourage everyone to visit it and learn more.  The path to the site is:

A fundraiser event for the foundation was held October 5th at the Bounty Lounge at the Holiday Inn at Nashua.  The event was very successful and we thank all those who donated to the success of the fundraiser.  A Spring event is being planned to award the STEM scholarships to deserving students.
